Pedra da Gavea is the name of a beautiful mountain in Rio de Janeiro. Going up isn´t that hard. Just go to Barra da Tijuca, to a place called “barrinha” (a sub-region). Get the Sorimã Road until a square where it ends. The hike track starts to the right.

Get ready since it´s 3,5 hours hike. You should bring water, maybe some food, protein bars, whatever makes you happy.
There is a point called “carrasqueira”, where you could need some gear to climb, but with some skill you can hold in the rocks.
Almost every time there is already a rope installed that you can use. I never tryed climbing something before and I could do it, so I think isn´t that hard. Going down can be a little bit scarier.
Overall, going up in Pedra da Gavea is one of the things I´ll never forget in my life.
